NEW DELHI: After almost a fortnight of making the second-generation Moto X available in India, Motorola has reduced the price of the first-generation Moto X to Rs 17,999. Interestingly, the teak and bamboo finish variants are also being sold at the same price. The phone is exclusively available on Flipkart and does not come with a charging adapter.
The company had originally priced the Moto X variant with plastic back panel at Rs 23,999 and wood finish (walnut and teak) back panel at Rs 25,999.
The second-generation Moto X is available at Rs 31,999 and the wood finish and leather back panel versions of the phone have been priced at Rs 33,999. While the new Moto X is a big upgrade, the first-generation Moto X is still a great buy offering unique features.
Moto X has a 4.7-inch HD screen, 1.7GHz dual-core processor, 10MP camera and 2GB RAM. It runs Android 4.4 operating system and has a water-resistant coating. Buyers get free 50GB of Google Drive storage with Moto X.
The smartphone comes with a unique always-on voice assistant that listens to the commands even if the user is not operating the handset. It also comes with a Quick Capture feature, which allows users to jerk their wrist twice to open the camera app. The camera of Moto X also features ClearPixel technology that allows 75% more light to enter, thus producing better low light pictures.
Much like Nokia's Glance Screen, Moto X comes with Active Display; this feature shows the time, unread messages and emails, missed calls and other notifications even when the screen is turned off. The device is preloaded with the Migrate app, which allows users to transfer data like contacts, photos, videos and even call log and SMSs from any Android 4.2-powered phone.
Meanwhile, Motorola has also started selling its Deck portable wireless speaker in India at Rs 8,990. The speaker supports Bluetooth and NFC connectivity, has a range of 91.4metres and offers a playback time of 10 hours on full charge. Up to five devices can be simultaneously connected with the speaker.
