Apple rakes in 94 percent share of global smartphone profits, with just 14.5 percent sales Volume While Android devices have a Lions share of the market in terms of sales, the profits posted by Phone brands is contrary. Apple is second only to Android only in terms of Volume of shipments calculated collectively. According to a study made by Canaccord Genuity research, the findings can be startling.
In terms of total sales volumes, Apple has about 14.5 percent of market share and continues to have a 94 percent share of the total profits of the Smartphone industry. Samsung, on the other hand takes a 11 percent share of total operating income. The report from Canaccord Genuity research says that other Smartphone makers have posted a negative operating income.Analyst Mike Walkley of Canaccord has said that HTC, BlackBerry, Sony and Lenovo have failed to compete in the segment of Smartphones that Apple dominates. Apple earned an overwhelming share of profits producing about 14.5 percent of all the smartphones sold in the quarter. Samsung shipped a 24.5 percent of phones in terms of volumes from the total share of smartphone sales.Apple is receiving a lot of competition in India from several other Phone brands that run on the Android Platform.
While Apple continues to rake in the moolah critics believe that the company is spiraling downwards. Despite the low volume sales that Apple Phones have in India coupled with a very lukewarm response to the Apple iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus, Apple continues to post profits and please its investors.
