Facebook rolling out 'On This Day'!

Facebook On This Day

Facebook has begun rolling out the "On This Day" feature to all its users after nearly an year in testing. The "On This Day" feature first made an appearance last year, when it was made available to a limited set of users before being disabled in November. Using it, users could find photos, status updates and activities that took place on the same date in a previous year since they joined Facebook.

Now, the feature is making a comeback and will be rolled out to every Facebook user globally on web as well as mobile. In addition to looking at the past updates, users can also enable notifications for any activity from a past date on a daily basis.

Although the content shown by "On This Day" is visible only to the logged in user, any interactions such as liking, commenting or sharing will be visible to others. Users must also take into consideration that some of the older posts might not have the same privacy settings due to the social network's periodic changes.

The rollout is expected to take some time and might not appear immediately but users should look out for it in the panel on the left of their "News Feed" or by clicking here.
