Microsoft's Lockbox for Office 365 gives you more control of your data

When you move your data to Office 365, Microsoft knows that this is a big commitment by the user, as it is putting your data in the hands of the Redmond based company. While Microsoft has shown to be a strong fighter against government intrusion and protecting your content from external parties, the company is now taking it one step further.

Like any service or platform, there are times when customer issues or maintenance needs to occur. For Office 365 users, Microsoft is introducing 'LockBox' a feature that requires the administrators of the subscription to grant Microsoft privileges to service their account.

For example, if an issue arises and you need a Microsoft engineer to investigate, the engineer will need to utilize Lockbox to be able to be granted permission to service your request. After the request by engineer is made, the Office 365 account admin will have 12 hours to approve the authorization to access the account. If they do not accept the request or let the 12 hours elapse, the engineer will not be able to service the account.

The company says the feature will be opt-in and will be available to all Office 365 commercial plans, so if you want this feature applied to your account or if you want to learn more about Lockbox, hit the link below.
