The date all the Apple loyalists were waiting for has arrived. Today is the D-Day when Apple will be launching its forever awaited iPhone 6 (and most probably the rumored iWatch). But the iPhone and iWatch are not the only things Apple will be talking about at this event. There is a lot more in store that Apple will be shedding light on. Here is a list of things we are expecting at the Apple event:
First things first—the event is all about the iPhone 6, or have at least been made so, by the media. The iPhone 6 remains the longest and the most eagerly awaited iPhone till date. And Apple has taken more than enough time to launch the god of all phones. So as far as the rumours go, there are going to be two variants of the iPhone 6—a 4.7 inch display and the massive 5.5 inch display. While the fingerprint sensor makes a comeback, a wide variety of new features are expected from the iPhone 6. Some of these can be NFC, sapphire crystal screen, all metal body, bigger batteries and more in-built storage space (128BG variant). How many of these rumors actually come true, only today’s event will tell! Till then, let’s keep our fingers crossed.
Okay Apple, you have to break your silence about the iWatch! The market has been flooded with smartwatches and the bad news is that, it’s been more than a year. Not only Apple is lagging behind in the smartwatch race but it also seems that it’s in no hurry to bring it out. Well like most other smartwatches, the iWatch is also expected to pack in fitness tracking features—all touch support and water resistance. The only thing to see is how Apple does it differently, like it’s been promising forever.
Apple dropped $3 billion on Beats earlier this year, remember? Well yes, the same deal is most expected to be talked about at lengths. And who knows if the new iPhone 6 might come with Beats earphones out-of-box. How we wish!
iPods are not dead! To make you believe so, Apple sold 2.9 million iPods this past quarter. But why should we expect an iPod overhaul is because the last time Apple upgraded the iPods were back in 2012. And that’s a long, long time. A lot has changed on Apple’s devices since 2012, like the processors, display screens and obviously the iOS. A lot of the new features are awaited in the new iPods.
Yes, we know that Apple hasn’t ever showcased an iPad and an iPhone at the same event. But if the rumors are to be believed, Apple might showcase its iPad Air. Hold your breath then!
Apple revealed its iOS 8 developer’s version in June while it was a work in progress. But the wait for consumer version might come to an end today. Expect the iOS 8 to be loaded with a plethora of exciting new features. The list includes handing off tasks from an iPhone or iPad to a Mac, third party keyboards, voice and group messaging, and unlimited iCloud storage.
