West Indies defeated Sri Lanka by seven wickets at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium here on Sunday Evening.
After winning the toss, West Indies skipper Darren Sammy decided to bowl first and restricted Sri Lanka to 122 for 9 in their World Twenty20 Super 10 match, with spinner Samuel Badree claiming three wickets for 12 runs.
Sri Lanka were 49 for 5 with very little hope of recovery when Badree finished his spell in the 10th over. Carlos Brathwaite drew the first blood by claiming Tillakaratne Dilshan's wicket.
Andre Fletcher, who open the innings, smashed an unbeaten 84 off 64. Though Charles, Samuels and Ramdin got out cheaply, Russell gave a good company to Fletcher as the duo saw their side winning with 10 balls left in the game.
Fletcher was declared 'Man of The Match'.
