Team India's off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has been in the form of his life this year both with the willow and the red cherry. Ashwin, who racked up 62 wickets in 9 matches this year, was phenomenal in India's Test series win against Sri Lanka and then during the historic four-match Test rubber against South Africa at home.
However, critics will always find something to pick in the best of things even when India are winning. The team's Test skipper Virat Kohli echoed this when he mentioned that some of the former players, who have not even played for the country, give their opinion on international cricketers. This time around, Chennai-born Ashwin gave a fitting reply to a fan when the latter questioned him whether he can replicate his form on foreign soil. The fan tweeted to Ashwin: “you can show your performance only in Asia ... Foreign condition you are waste there are many bowlers perform more that u." (sic)
And Ashwin's reply will surely be remembered by that particular fan for a lifetime. This is what Ashwin replied (translated): “Go and focus on getting your kids educated instead of worrying about me, did I ask your permission before deciding to take up cricket?" (sic)

After the series win against the Proteas, Ashwin was awarded his fifth Man of the Series awards and thus shares the record for the most number of Man of the Series awards in Tests along with former Indian veterans Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar.
