It's been almost 40 years since emergency has been called during former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi's regime. On this occasion, BJP senior leader LK Advani has given an exclusive interview to Indian Express.LK Advani said Emergency could repeat at any time in India as forces which are a threat to democracy have become more stronger in the country.
"Commitment to democracy and other aspects related to it were lacking," he added. These comments were seen as a direct dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Adding fuel to fire, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal tweeted: "Advani ji is correct in saying that emergency can't be ruled out. Is Delhi their first experiment?".During 1975 Emergency, Indira-led Union Government jailed Opposition Leaders and imposed severe restrictions on Media. Will those scenes repeat again?
