Jaitley to inaugurate CII Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam on January 10. The Andhra Pradesh Government is a partner in organising the three-day summit. Elaborate arrangements are being made to leverage strength of Andhra Pradesh on investment front during the three-day Partnership Summit being hosted here by CII and AP Government from January 10.
Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will inaugurate the summit at APIIC Harbour Park. The summit, the first being held after bifurcation of AP is expected to attract several big ticket projects ranging from manufacturing, biotechnology, pharma, IT to textiles. “We are expecting to sign over 100 MoUs," a senior government official said refusing to divulge the amount of total investment.
About 1,200 delegates including teams led by eight Trade Ministers and others from the United States, China, Germany, Australia and 33 other countries have confirmed their participation. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will camp throughout the three days of the summit in the city. Besides Mr. Jaitley, Union Minister for Shipping Nitin Gadkari, Urban Development Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu, Minister for Civil Aviation P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Nirmala Sitharaman and others will attend.
CII-Andhra Pradesh Chairman Suresh Chitturi told The Hindu on Thursday that the summit would focus on investment opportunities in AP with its 974-km coastline, pro-active policies and missions and slew of incentives being offered by the government. He said that after World Bank ranked AP second after Gujarat in ease of doing business, the hosting of the summit for the first time in Visakhapatnam and first time after formation of Navya Andhra Pradesh assumed lot of significance.
The summit will have exclusive sessions on 'Sunrise State as USP of AP,' 'Make in India' in AP, future world of business and skill development and retail marketing.
