mitabh Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra will replace Aamir Khan as new ambassadors of the Incredible India campaign to market the country to tourists overseas. Though he was dropped from the "Incredible India" campaigns a few days later, the BJP Government has denied it had anything to do with his statement, stating that his contract had expired. As per the ministry, Big B is a "non-controversial" figure.
However, megastar Amitabh Bachchan emerged as the top choice to front the campaign after superstar Aamir Khan, whose contract ended recently. Priyanka Chopra's worldwide fame impressed the center to rope her. While these reports are according to sources, the official announcement regarding the same will be happening after Republic Day. Further they were impressed with the veteran actor's work for Gujarat tourism.
"Of course, I would love to be the ambassador of Incredible India". Now the contract with the agency is over. It has happened for the very first time that central government has directly appointed the face of the campaign. "Ministry has not hired Aamir", tourism minister Mahesh Sharma said at the time.
