The nine-day Brahmotsavams at the TTD's Sri Kodandarama temple in Tirupati commenced with Dwajarohanam in the auspicious Meena Lagnam on Monday. The day began with the procession of deities in four mada streets in the early hours, followed by the hoisting of the sacred flag atop the temple flag post, amid chanting of Vedic mantras by archakas.
TTD Chairman Chadalawada Krishnamurthy announced that the festivities of Lord Rama would be observed in a befitting manner this year not only at the Sri Kodandarama Swamy temple, but also in Ramalayam at Chandragiri and Vontimitta. The kalyanam at the temple will be performed on April 16, at Vontimitta on April 20 and at Chandragiri on April 21. Tirupati JEO P Bhaskar and Temple Dy EO Munilakshmi were also present.
