All of us know that among the many initiatives that Chief Minister KCR has planned for development of Telangana, one is the removal of statues in Tank Bund and parcel them to Andhra Pradesh. With this, many are getting doubts on the statue which is standing with grace at the Gibraltar Rock.
Yes, we are talking about the Buddha statue and given the perspective of KCR, any non-Telangana person's statue would be removed. This got many thinking that Buddha was born in Lumbini, Nepal and his statue was erected by N T Rama Rao who is an Andhra person. So, the logic should be that even Buddha's statue must be removed.
Added to that, Buddhism worked on Andhra side towards regions around river Krishna but never in Telangana. The statues on Tank Bund along with the statue of Buddha garnered a lot of appreciation from tourists and visitors to Hyderabad. But since KCR's logic also has a point, will he keep it or not is the big question.
