IPL COO Sundar Raman who has alleged involvement in spot-fixing and betting scandal of the cash-rich league in the year 2013 submitted his resignation and BCCI accepted it immediately. It is learnt that Mr. Raman will be ending his ties with BCCI on November 5th.
Reportedly, BCCI President Shashank Manohar who is known for strict measures against corruption & indiscipline decided to end Sundar Raman's association with the Indian Cricket Board on grounds of corruption soon after taking charge of the top post. He believed Sundar Raman should have voluntarily resigned or BCCI should have sacked him after Mudgal Committee found him guilty of involving in spot-fixing and betting in IPL 2013. After being elected as BCCI President on October 4th, Shashank Manohar might have asked Sundar Raman to step down to restore the faith of people in IPL. Finally, Sundar Raman who is currently under the investigation of the scandal offered his resignation.
