Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday called on officials of revenue earning departments to implement better tax collection procedures using advanced technology even before the central government's GST becomes a reality.
In a meeting with officials of the departments concerned here, Mr. Naidu said that the State earned only Rs. 39, 854 crore during the last fiscal year against the target of Rs. 44, 423 crore. Mr Naidu has set Rs. 52, 618 crore as target for 2016-17. Speaking about traders, the Chief Minister asked officials to make sure the 700 companies and 1.60 lakh traders are not subjected to harassment while collecting taxes.
