The stage appears to be set for two more Telangana Telugu Desam Party MLAs to join the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti. The two MLAs – Maganti Gopinath (Jubilee Hills) and Arikepudi Gandhi (Serilingampally) – have reportedly made up their mind to join the ruling party in a few days. The MLAs did not attend the meeting convened by TTDP working president A. Revanth Reddy ahead of the budget session of the Telangana Legislative Assembly slated to start from March 10.
According to sources, the two MLAs are learnt to have called on TRS president and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao at his Camp Office on Tuesday evening and got his nod for joining the party. The two MLAs are likely to switch loyalties to the TRS tentatively on March 11. The defection of the two MLAs would deal a severe blow to the TDP in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits.
