AP Govt Starts 1000 Medical Shops to help People!

Andhra Pradesh Government is planning to launch 1,000 medical shops across the State where generic medicines would be sold at discounted rates of nearly 25 per cent.

AP Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas said, “The file pertaining to the setting of medical shops is pending with Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu for final approval. Once approved, the medical shops, along with district-level Stock Depots will be set up in 91 days.

Two Super Specialty Hospitals were sanctioned for the State as per the AP Reorganisation Act. As a follow-up action, government has identified land for one hospital in Anantapur while land identification process will be completed in Vijayawada in the next one week. Six Super Specialty hospitals will be established at different places on the lines of VIMS. Government has also sanctioned Rs 80 crore for the promotion of District and Area hospitals by introducing super-specialty facilities. The government proposes to increase revenue from Arogyasri cases from present 30% to 50%.

Employees Health Cards will be issued on October 30 and they will be operational from November 1. Similarly, the Journalists' Health Cards will become operational from December 1.”
