Sonia, Rahul Gandhi granted bail in National Herald case


Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi who personally appeared in the National Herald case got the bail. The bail was granted by the Patiala court in 10 minutes time. The bail was granted with a surety of Rs 50000 each. Central Delhi appeared to be in the grips of a security alert especially in the areas around the Patiala House District Courts Complex and the Congress party headquarters at Akbar Road, as party president Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi are set to appear at the courts in the National Herald case.The two leaders are scheduled to appear before a magistrates' court at 3 p.m.

The Congress has accused the BJP-led NDA government of conducting a “political vendetta" and unfairly targeting its leaders by using “proxy litigation" in the case to divert people's attention from “failures" in governance.
