Former Prime Minister, H.D. Deve Gowda said that the centre should give special status to Andhra Pradesh as the assurance was given in Parliament. He Came to Vijayawada the other day for the opening ceremony of a Jewellery shop.
Speaking to media, Deve Gowda said that it was the former Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh who assured the special status to AP and he asked BJP government to abide by the promise made. He also said that Chandrababu Naidu and PM Modi share a good bonding, so the special status will be definitely given. He also made it clear that centre has to implement all the special packages that are announced for Andhra Pradesh.
On asking whether Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan will succeed in getting a special status, he said “Pawan is young and energetic. Why do you suspect his effort?" It was known that Deve Gowda's son H.D. Kumaraswamy met Pawan a few days back. Speaking on it, he said “Kumaraswamy met Pawan regarding the debut movie of my grandson Nikhil Kumar, Jaguar. There is no political agenda behind it."
