Washing the dirty linen in the public, the BJP city unit has charged the Chief Minister's office with conspiring to sell lands worth Rs 2,000 cr, belonging to Sadavarti Satram, for a throwaway price to the TDP benamis.
Party Vijayawada city unit president Dasam Umamaheswara Raju has prepared a dossier on the 'land scam', which, he said, he would present in the two-day party state executive committee meeting to commence at Bhimavaram in West Godavari district on Thursday and seek CBI probe into the scam, regardless of the fact that the TDP is BJP's political ally.
“When an irregularity takes place, it is my duty to bring it to the notice of the people. Telugu Desam may be a friendly party to the BJP, but I cannot remain a mute spectator to illegal transactions taking place in the state," Raju told Media.
He wanted a CBI inquiry ordered into the scam since the lands, in the guise of auction, were sold for a song at a price of Rs 22 lakh at a time when its registration value is Rs 50 lakh. The market value of these lands is about Rs 4 to 6 crore per acre, he said.
