A day after BJP leader Roopa Ganguly's convoy was targeted in West Bengal, the Left-Congress alliance in West Bengal has decided to boycott the oath-taking ceremony of Mamata Banerjee. The decision was taken by both the party leaders who were defeated in West Bengal assembly elections.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that the alliance between the Left and Congress will continue in the state. Roopa Ganguly was allegedly attacked by a Trinamool Congress party leader who pelted stones at her. She was admitted to the district hospital with severe head injuries.
Among the guest list are Narendra Modi and Sonia Gandhi. However, it is not clear whether Sonia Gandhi will attend the ceremony, which ill be held at Red Road. Apart from them, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and many more were invited.
It has been estimated that close to 8,000 to 10,000 guests are expected to arrive on the big day and the event will be held in Red Road in Kolkata, instead of Raj Bhavan. Lalu Prasad Yadav and son Tejaswi Yadav are also among the guest list, apart from Union Minister Arun Jaitley, Venkaiah Naidu and Nitin Gadkari, Mukesh Ambani, YC Deveshwar.
