Telugu Desam Party (TDP) functionaries burnt a flexi of Opposition leader Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy at Visvesvarayya Circle office here on Monday and condemned the violence unleashed during Kapu Garjana meet at Tuni. Accusing YSR Congress and Congress sympathisers of indulging in violence in a pre-planned manner, TDP Central disciplinary committee member S. Venkateswarlu, in a media conference here, accused Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy of sending goons of Pulivendula to Tuni to cause disturbances.
Flays YSRCP chief:
Accusing former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy of whipping up communal passions at Hyderabad leading to loss of several lives in the past in a bid to oust the then Chief Minister, the Telugu Desam Party leader charged Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy with following suit. The Congress had neglected the Kapu community when it ruled the State for ten years before Telugu Desam regained power, but was shedding crocodile tears for the community now. As Kapus stood by TDP in the recent elections, rowdy elements were instigated to vitiate the atmosphere, Mr. Venkateswarlu alleged.
Appealing to the Kapu community not to be misled by the motivated campaign of the YSRC and Congress, the TDP leader asserted that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu would keep up his promise to include Kapus in the Backward Class list. All India Kapu, Balija Sangham president A. Ananthaiah called upon the people of the community to support the TDP and achieve their demand in an amicable manner. Zilla Parishad chairman M. Rajasekhara Goud, District Cooperative Central Bank Chairman M. Mallikarjuna Reddy, Grandhalaya Samstha chairman S. Dhana Reddy, market committee chairman N. Samanthakamani, district TDP general secretary Y. Nageswara Rao Yadav and other leaders participated.
