A woman, who was allegedly raped by two men at the sprawling campus of IT major Infosys here in Maharashtra, revealed that one of the men taped the incident in the washroom.
According to a complaint registered by the 25-year-old victim with police, the two accused -- Paritosh Baag and Prakash Mahadik -- entered the washroom when the woman was inside it on December 27. The woman, working as a canteen cashier inside Phase I of the 115-acre campus, filed a complaint with police in Hinjewadi on Tuesday.
Talking to mid-day, the survivor, who shifted from Yavatmal to Pune last year, narrated the whole incident. The woman had gone to the women's toilet after she took a break from work at 5.30 pm. Paritosh Bagh, a cleaner at the canteen, entered the washroom and grabbed her from behind.
"I was washing my hands when, suddenly, Bagh pounced on me, forcibly removed my sari and raped me," she said.
When she screamed for help, Prakash Mahadik (30) entered the washroom. Hoping that he might help her, the victim was shocked to see that he instead took out his phone and began to film the rape.
"I was pleading with Bagh to leave me, and was shouting for help, when Mahadik entered the washroom. He saw Bagh raping me, but egged him on. He locked the door from inside and began to take pictures and record videos of the incident. I begged Mahadik to help, said I was like his sister, but he only laughed," she said.
The duo then threatened to make the clip public if she informed anyone about the incident. Moving swiftly, police nabbed two people -- who are part of the contractual housekeeping staff of a partner of Infosys on the campus.
