Unhappy AP CM calls up Union Finance Minister

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who is unhappy with the Union Budget which had failed to come to the rescue of the cash-strapped state, on Tuesday called Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley to express his displeasure over the meagre allocations to the state.

Stating this at the TDP general body meeting held here, Naidu said the Centre had in the past promised special category status, special package for the backward districts and bridging the revenue gap, incentives to the industry and extending financial help for construction of the new capital at Amaravati.

He said he had reminded the Finance Minister about the assurances given in the AP State Reorganisation Act and Jaitley assured him that the Centre would extend financial support to the state through various departments and there would be no shortage of funds for the State.
