Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao doesn't come across as much of a movie buff in general, but an interaction with Amitabh Bachchan brought out the fanboy side of the straight-talking head of the state. "I haven't been watching films for a long time, but there was a time when I used to watch films of NTR and ANR. Not many know that I am a big fan of Amitabh Bachchan and my favourite film from his illustrious career is Abhimaan. In fact, I must have seen the film more than 50 times and it has a soothing effect on me, every time I feel I am under a lot of stress," said KCR, after presenting Amitabh an award.
It turns out the CM didn't know that Tollywood produces the largest number of films in the country. "I was pleasantly surprised to hear from Amitabh Bachchan that Telugu film industry makes more films every year than Bollywood and I would like to reiterate that our government will do everything to support Telugu cinema," added KCR. Guess it took an Amitabh to get KCR discover Telugu film industry's production capacity.
Earlier in the evening, Amitabh Bachchan, along with Nagarjuna, visited the CM's camp office and spent nearly half-an- hour talking to KCR and his family. After being appraised about the developmental programmes being launched in Telangana, Amitabh offered to lend his support for any social initiative launched in the state.
