Former Editor of The Hindu and a friend of Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa, Malini Parthasarathy on Monday tweeted about Jayalalithaa's health. In her tweet, Malini expressing her happiness said that Jayalalithaa was certainly recovering and is out of danger. Another journalist Dhanya Rajendran also tweeted about how the AIADMK party members are a more confident lot now.
Jayalalithaa, who has been in hospital since September 22, is responding well to the treatment given to her and has been advised a few more days' stay in hospital, said Apollo Hospitals on Sunday. The hospital said Jayalalithaa continues to improve. In a statement issued on Sunday night, Apollo Hospitals said the current treatment plan, including appropriate antibiotics and other allied clinical measures, are presently being continued to treat the infection the 68-year-old leader is suffering from.
TN Governor Vidyasagar Rao happy:- Governor C Vidyasagar Rao on Saturday visited Apollo Hospital where the CM is admitted. He presented her with a basket of fruits and expressed happiness at her recovery, said a Raj Bhavan statement. Rao's visit comes a day after DMK President M. Karunanidhi said the Governor has not gone and met the Chief Minister, who has been in the hospital for more than a week. Meanwhile, state Finance Ministter O Panneerselvam, Electricity Minister P Thangamani and Forest Minister Dindigul CSrinigasan visited Apollo Hospitals on Sunday.
Top UK doctor supervising:- The current treatment plan is based on the detailed discussions the expert group of doctors had with British doctor Richard Beale. According to the statement, Beale is Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine at Guy's and St. Thomas Hospital, London. As per the London hospital's website, Beale is one of its critical care consultants and clinical director, perioperative, pain and critical care directorate. He is an experienced investigator in the fields of sepsis, Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome, haemodynamics, critical care nutrition and ICU informatics.
Opposition parties seek information:- DMK chief M Karunanidhi wished the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, J Jayalalithaa, a speedy recovery. However, he demanded that the AIADMK government should release a photo of her to 'put an end to the rumours' about her health. He asked them to give regular updates about her health to the people of Tamil Nadu. Opposition leaders like Dr. S Ramadoss also questioned about the lack of information about her health, pointing out that it has led to a lot of speculations and worry in the state.
