KTR Meets Union Ministers Smriti Irani, Venkaiah Naidu

Industries minister KT Rama Rao on Thursday requested Union urban development minister M Venkaiah Naidu to help Telangana government get a loan from HUDCO to the tune of `785 crore for development of the proposed Hyderabad Pharma City. Rama Rao called on Venkaiah Naidu during his two-day visit to Delhi. Speaking to reporters later, Rama Rao said the state required the amount for land acquisition for Pharma City.

KT Rama Rao said that he had requested Venkaiah Naidu to release `930 crore from the National River Conservation Plan for second phase of Musi river cleaning programme.

Rama Rao sought the cooperation of the Union urban development ministry to release funds from various corporations for the construction of drainages and roads. BRICS LOANS: The IT minister said that he wanted the cooperation of Venkaiah Naidu in getting BRICS bank loans. "We have sent proposals for `75,000 crore BRICS bank loan. Most of the works proposed are related to the development of urban areas. That is why Venkaiah Naidu's cooperation is needed," Rama Rao said. Later in the evening, Rama Rao called on Union textiles minister Smriti Irani and brought the problems being faced by the weavers in Sircilla, Pochampally, Gadwal and Narayanpet areas in the state.

The Union minister assured Rama Rao that she would visit the state to know the problems of weavers. She also assured to convene a meeting with weavers in Hyderabad.
