TDP BJP slugfest in AP Assembly


Andhra Pradesh Assembly on Wednesday witnessed a slugfest between the ruling TDP and its ally BJP over the issue of what the Centre had done for the truncated stated.The TDP, while moving the resolution demanding speedy implementation of promises made by the Centre in the AP State Reorganisation Act, said that the State was facing several problems in the post-bifurcation period.

Though the Centre has extended some help a lot more needs to be done. What the state got was not enough, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu stated in the House. Reacting to this, two BJP ministers in Naidu cabinet-- Kamineni Srinivas and Manikyala Rao -- while admitting that there were certain issues like the railway zone which were yet to be resolved, the Centre has been extending all possible help to the state.

The Centre had already released some funds for the capital city at Amaravati and Polavaram project. It was also taking steps to tide over the fiscal deficit inherited by the state government following the division of the state.
