Chandrababu Naidu convoy vehicle involved in minor mishap

A car in Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N, Chandrababu Naidu’s convoy met with a minor mishap at Alipiri, the entry point to Tirumala on Friday afternoon causing anxiety to his security personnel.

Police said the vehicle of Inspector General (Intelligence) A. R. Anuradha was hit from behind by an SUV belonging to Tirupati Urban Development Authority also in the convoy. Mr. Naidu was on his way to Tirumala, abode of Lord Venkateswara to Tirumala to participate in the annual Brahmotsavam.

No one was injured in the mishap. As the two vehicles stopped for a while, there was a commotion in the convoy, but the vehicles resumed their journey immediately.

Though it was very minor mishap, it caused anxiety as it was at Alipiri that Maoists triggered a claymore mine targeting his car in October 2003 when he was going to Tirumala to participate in Brahmotsavam. He had escaped with injuries. Ever since, a tight security is maintained for him.

In a sheer coincidence, three accused in the Alipiri blast case were sentenced to four years rigorous imprisonment by a Tirupati court on Thursday.
