Andhra Pradesh Minister for Women and Child Welfare Peethala Sujatha announced that phenol production units will be established in every mandal in the district for the financial assistance of DWCRA women. She reviewed DWMA, DRDA schemes at her camp office here on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said the phenol units would supply phenol and bleaching powder to 5,000 schools in the district. “These units were already set up in Lingapalem and Kamavarapukota mandals on trial basis, which yielded good results,” she added.
Sujatha said that the DWCRA women will get Rs 63 crore as loan this year through STREE NIDHI Bank. She expressed her satisfaction on the achievements in lending loans to DWCRA groups in the district. She said that Rs 670 crores has been earmarked for DWCRA groups consisting of 6.64 lakh women. The Minister said that Rs 216 crores will be spent to construct Chandranna Roads in every ward in the district.
“Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has decided to provide better transport facility to every village. In line with his vision, first phase of Chandranna Roads were taken up in the district. Out of funds allocated Rs 102 crores will be spent under MGNREGA scheme,” she said. DRDA Project Director K Srinivasulu, DWMA Project Director Venkataramana Reddy and others participated in the meeting.
