Even as AP chief minister Chandrababu Naidu is promising “Anna canteens” across the State on par with “Amma canteens” of Tamil Nadu, a prominent leader of his party felt setting up of the canteens was not possible.
Speaking to reporters in Anantapur, Tadipatri MLA J.C. Prabhakar Reddy said that it would be much better if the mid-day meals programme was implemented in a better fashion. "I don't understand how the government thought of canteens when it is unable to implement mid-day meal scheme properly,"he said.
He also said " I have not understood some schemes that government has proposed and Anna canteen scheme is one among them."
There are too many problems with the food that ISKCON is providing, he said and added that it remains to be seen how it would manage the Anna Canteens.
He also asked the government officials to visit his home town of Tadipatri and taste the meals being provided there by his family since 2007.
