The AIADMK said that Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu held prayers for his Tamil Nadu counterpart at the Tirumala temple on Wednesday.
The party's official Twitter handle, @AIADMK official, in a tweet in Tamil, stated that Naidu sent 'prasadam' from the famous Lord Venkateswara temple to the Apollo hospital in Chennai, where Jayalalithaa has been admitted.
"Chandrababu Naidu held prayers at Tirupati temple for complete recovery of Chief Minister (Jayalalithaa). The Andhra CM sent the prasadam to Apollo Hospital," the tweet said.
On Tuesday, it was announced that Jayalalithaa's portfolios in the cabinet were reallocated to Finance Minister O Panneerselvam as the 68-year-old is expected to stay in the hospital for a little while longer.
A press release from Raj Bhavan stated that, "Under Clause(3) of Article 166 of the Constitution of India, His Excellency the Governor of Tamil Nadu today allocated the subjects hitherto dealt with by Hon'ble Chief Minister Selvi J Jayalalithaa, to Thiru O Panneerselvam Minister for Finance, Personnel and Administrative Reforms."
Jayalalithaa was admitted to the hospital on September 22, for 'fever and dehydration.
