On Thursday afternoon, a Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) bus driver ignored the excruciating pain of a heart attack to steer his passengers to safety. Unfortunately, he did not survive the attack. The TNSTC bus driver Sarveswaran (54) suffered a heart attack while navigating a busy stretch near Maduravoyal market. Despite his discomfort, Mr. Sarveswaran drove on and parked the bus safely by the side of the road.
After ensuring that the passengers were safe, he informed the conductor about his pain. He was rushed to the Kilpauk Medical College Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival, police said. He was attached to the Kancheepuram section of TNSTC. Mr. Sarveswaran was operating on the 76-B route from Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus (CMBT) to Kancheepuram. “The TNSTC Kanchipuram branch was informed about the incident,” said a police officer.
