Senior YCP MP Ready To Quit?

YSR Congress party senior leader and Nellore Lok Sabha MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy has reportedly made up his mind to bid adieu the party soon. He has been invited to join the Bharatiya Janata Party. Union minister for Urban Development M Venkaiah Naidu is said to have contacted Reddy for several times recently. The YSR Congress leader also did not decline the offer from BJP.

Party leaders said Rajamohan Reddy, aged 70+, was feeling that he is not being given importance in the party for long time. Rajamohan Reddy was elected member of the Lok Sabha from YSRCP in the 2014 general election. He won one time as MLA and 5 times as MP in 1989, 2004, 2009, 2012 (bypolls) and 2014 elections. He also maintained intimacy with late chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy.
