YSR Congress Nagari MLA R.K. Roja on Tuesday breathed fire at TDP president and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for encouraging defections. He was reacting to YSR Congress leaders switching their loyalties to the ruling TDP on Monday.
At a media conference here, Ms. Roja wondered how Mr. Naidu, who criticised the Telangana Rashtra Samiti for buying out TDP legislators in Telangana, would explain the situation in Andhra Pradesh. She said that Bhuma Nagi Reddy, the Kurnool strongman, too owed an explanation to the people of his district. She sought to remind Mr. Nagi Reddy that the YSR Congress had stood by his side when his wife died in a road accident.
Reiterating that the TDP was “sinking ship," she observed that those boarding it would also sink. “Irrespective of the number of MLAs leaving the party, the YSR Congress will remain strong with people's support. Party president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy will come to power with people's blessings," she said.Criticising the Chief Minister's double digit growth announcement as a “tall claim," Ms. Roja wondered how the State could achieve it without creating a single job, setting up an industrial unit, or building a house for the poor.
