The Government of Telangana is continuing the legal battle to take control over the common institutions listed under the Schedule X of AP Re-organization Act of 2014. Recently, Supreme Court quashed the T-govt's review petition of sharing the assets and liabilities of Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) with Andhra Pradesh as per the ratio of population. Now Telangana government is planning to file a curative petition in the court.
The concept of a curative petition is basically where the petitioner can know whether he will be given any relief after the final judgment of Supreme Court. This is the last resort for the Government of Telangana. If they fail, they have a pay a sum of Rs.35000 crore to AP to take control of these institutions. Normally the curative petition will be addressed by the judges in the chamber and rarely, the cases will go for an open hearing in the court.
