Deputy Chief Minister N. Chinarajappa has said that the government will organise Kapu Runa Mela in all districts for the benefit of the community as a whole. He was speaking after inaugurating the loan mela here on Saturday, wherein he distributed loans to the tune of Rs.18 crore to 3,000 beneficiaries of the community.
“The state government has allocated Rs.1,000 crore per year over the next five years for the welfare of the community. A special effort is being made to ensure devolution of scholarship to Kapu students in a timely and qualitative manner," he said. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ravindra said that funds allocated to Kapus would be spent exclusively for the welfare of the people of the community. “The government has already facilitated loans of Rs.192 crore to 32,000 beneficiaries across the State. However, to ensure all eligible from the community are benefited, we have launched this programme," Mr. Ravindra said. Mr. Raghunatha Reddy said that the Chief Minister allocated Rs. 22,360 crore for the uplift of the poor and downtrodden in all communities.
