Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has approved the design on the police patrols to be introduced in city from August 15 but suggested a larger font of letters on the front side of vehicles and slight adjustments in logo. The boxes fitted to the motorcycles sideways should be withdrawn and kit bags attached to the rear, he said when Director General of Police Anurag Sharma and other senior police officers showed him the newly designed patrolling and traffic vehicles at the CM's camp office on Sunday.
Two designs of Innova cars and one motorcycle were shown to him on the occasion. He studied the design, font, rear seating arrangement, boot, colour, placement of logo and size of letters. Mr. Rao took the views of several persons present before giving his approval, a release said.
Release funds for water scheme: Ponnam
Former Karimnagar MP Ponnam Prabhakar urged Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to sanction Rs. 1,000 crore for providing water to the villages in Karimnagar district along the pipeline of Sujala Sravanti water supply scheme to Hyderabad city. Sujala Sravanti scheme was conceived to lift water from Sripada Yellampalli project from Karimnagar district to Hyderabad for drinking water requirement at a cost of Rs 3,500 crore. Inaugurating a home for the aged at Tollavagu near Mancherial town, the Home Minister said establishment of a women's police station will be considered by the government.
