In a meeting with cabinet ministers, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu made it clear that Narendra Modi-led NDA Government denied special status to the state. He cited pressures from other States demanding Special Category Status as the reason behind NDA's move.
Denial of Special Status will have a huge negative impact on Andhra Pradesh for sure. To recover from the present crisis, Chandrababu directed Ministers to cut down unnecessary expenditure in all the Departments. Reportedly, The TDP Chief ordered Secretaries of all the departments to identify the various schemes from which AP could tap Central Funds.
AP Government isn't in a position to pay salaries of Government Employees from February this year. Hence, Chief Minister is focusing on minimising the expenditure and funds from Centre.
