The people of Andhra Pradesh are at the receiving end of a series of shocks. The latest shock charged by the BJP-led Central government is that nowhere it's written in the AP Reorganisation Act that AP should be given special funds. This is the burden of the written reply by Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal who said nowhere in the Act is there a mention of any type of special funds for Andhra Pradesh.
Even so the Central government went out of its way and generously gave a grace of Rs 500 crore Special Aid for AP for the year 2015-16. The minister was responding to a question by TDP MP T.G. Venkatesh. The outgoing Congress had played all the mischief between the cup and the lip as between the Bill and the Act, thanks to the self-proclaimed author Jairam Ramesh (Congress).
