BJP Plans Dharna At Etigadda Kistapur Today

BJP and TTDP would be holding separate agitations in Etigadda Kistapur, the epicentre of Mallanna Sagar oustee protests, in the coming days.

BJP will hold a dharna at Etigadda Kistapur and Vemulaghat villages in Thoguta mandal on Wednesday to extend solidarity to the protesting oustees demanding due compensation to the lands that they lose in the project. BJP state president K Laxman will participate in the programme. Meanwhile, TTDP working president A Revanth Reddy would sit on a 48-hour deeksha starting June 25 at Etigadda Kistapur along with the Mallanna Sagar oustees.

Revanth Reddy had already visited the submergence villages and extended his party's support to the protest of the oustees for compensation under Land Acquisition Act 2013. He set 15-day deadline for the government to announce that the compensation will be paid under the Land Acquisition Act 2013. As more than 15 days have passed and no decision was taken by the government, the TTDP leader announced to sit on a deeksha.
