Telangana TDP Leader Motkupalli Narasimhulu has been eyeing the Governor's post since the past few years. Actually, Chandrababu Naidu promised him Rajya Sabha seat. He, however, couldn't fulfill the promise due to poor show of TDP in 2014 General Elections. As a result, Motkupalli placed the demand of nominating him for Governor post as BJP happens to be the alliance partner of TDP.
As of now, Governor posts of Tamil Nadu, Arunachal Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh fell vacant for various reasons. If the recent indications are to be believed, Motkupalli might be appointed as Governor of Arunachal Pradesh. Centre kept delaying the appointment only because of the dilemma over Special Status/Special Package. With the announcement of Package, Modi would focus on other promises made to TDP.
If Motkupalli was denied Arunachal Governor post, He may be named as Governor for Manipur. In that context, Current Manipur Governor Najma Heptulla would be made Arunachal Pradesh Governor. On the other hand, Former Gujarat CM Anandiben Patel is likely to be appointed as Tamil Nadu Governor as K Rosaiah's term has ended recently.
