A constable attached with the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) opened fire on two of his colleagues, his wife before shooting himself Tuesday night, the police said. While the two personnel from the paramilitary force died on the spot, the accused and his wife are critical and are being treated at a local hospital in Ratnagiri in Maharashtra.
The victims have been identified as Assistant Sub Inspector Balu Ganpati Shinde (58) and constable Raneesh P (28). The incident happened between 9.30 pm and 9.45 pm on Tuesday night inside the armoury department of the Dabhol power station owned by Ratnagiri Gas & Power Pvt Ltd where the accused, Harish Kumar has been posted. CISF is entrusted with the responsibility of providing security to the plant.
