The Congress party in Telangana, which is already down in the dumps with the defection of several leaders including Nalgonda MP Gutha Sukhender Reddy in the recent past, is likely to receive yet another jolt very shortly.
According to information from the TRS sources, former minister from Narsapur in Medak district Sunitha Lakshma Reddy is all set to join the ruling party. The local TRS leaders led by Harish Rao are learnt to have prevailed upon Sunitha to join the TRS promising that she would have a bright future. Apparently, Sunitha has been given the impression that there is no threat to the TRS at least for another term and it would be difficult for the Congress to get back its glory.
Not just Sunitha, every Congress leader is being told that the TRS would definitely come to power in 2019 also; and the Opposition has to wait for another five years if at all they have to dream of coming to power. It is learnt Sunitha has been promised the MLA ticket in the next elections, as there would be at least two more Assembly constituencies in Medak district. Who else will be left in the Congress party then?
