Even as the proposed private member bill seeking special category status to Andhra Pradesh, to be introduced by Congress MP K V P Ramachandra Rao in Rajya Sabha on Friday, has pushed the Telugu Desam Party in a tricky situation, Telangana IT minister K T Rama Rao has given a piece of advice to TDP president and AP chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
KTR, who has been in New Delhi for the last two days, was keenly watching the hungama over the private member bill on special category status to AP by the Congress members. He told media that there was no point in introducing a private member bill on the issue, as the government would see that it would not get passed.
“The Congress cannot achieve the special status to AP. It is possible only for Chandrababu Naidu. For that, he has to follow the formula adopted by Telangana chief minister and TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao – to convince all the political parties to support the demand for special category status and get letters from them to that effect. With that, he can bring pressure on the Modi government. That is what KCR did for Telangana,” he said.
