The AP ministers Ayyannapatrudu, Devineni Uma, China Rajappa, Prathip[ati Pulla Rao, Ravelo Kishore and Kollu Ravindra among others have attended the ceremony. The initial offices are opened on the ground floor of the fifth building in the secretariat complex.
Though other buildings in the complex are yet to be finished, this particular building was said to be completed in 131 days. The building will hold the employees of Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, Health and Medical, Housing, and Labour and Employment departments. Around 200 employees in these departments were shifted earlier today in five Amaravati RTC buses.
The other departments will also get started in phases, sources say, even as the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, who is currently on official China Visit, is expected to start working from July 21 from the new secretariat. The secretariat officials present in numbers today looked cheerful despite their indifference towards the early migration to the new capital city.
