Kidnap Case Against Former MLA Katasani

The Kurnool III Town police registered a case against former Panyam MLA and Bharatiya Janata Party leader Katasani Ram Bhupal Reddy and two others on charges of kidnapping and confining a youth for allegedly not repaying money given by him.

On a complaint filed by Aziza Jaleel that the former MLA kidnapped her son, Wahid, Kurnool III Town circle inspector G. Madhusudana Rao and staff freed Waheed from Mr. Ram Bhupal Reddy's house. Aziza Jaleel who lived with her son Javid in Rajbagh street took Rs. 7 lakh as loan from the former MLA seven years ago for fighting a court case for possession of their 40-cent land at Bellary in Karnataka, the inspector said.

The court ordered possession of the land to Aziza Jaleel, but when she did not repay the money taken, the former MLA allegedly demanded that the land be registered in his name in lieu of the debt. When Aziza Jaleel's second son Wahid, who resides in Ganesh Nagar, went to Kurnool general hospital to meet a friend Yousuf, Mr. Reddy allegedly took Wahid in his car and confined him in his house demanding repayment of his debt.
