Narayankhed by-poll: counting today

All arrangements have been put in place for counting of votes for the Narayankhed by-election on Tuesday. The counting will take place at the Polytechnic College located in the constituency headquarters. Counting would commence at 8 a.m. and is expected to be completed in three two to three hours. About 14 tables were established for counting with four persons on each table, and in 21 rounds the counting would be completed. Printing-cum-auxiliary display units (PADU) are being used at the centre.

Disclosing these details at a press conference in Narayankhed on Monday after examining the arrangements, Returning Officer and Additional Joint Collector V. Venkateswarlu said that police security was put in place so that no untoward incident takes place during the counting. Surprisingly, the Narayankhed by-election registered a record number of polling in the district. According to final figures made available by the authorities, 82.21 per cent of polling was registered.
