In a shocking incident Sincere IAS officer D.K. Ravi, Additional Commissioner of Commercial Taxes was found dead in his apartment at Bangalore on Monday evening under mysterious circumstances. Ravi's body was found hanging at his apartment and the incident sent shockwaves through the state bureaucracy and police force.
Police said that Ravi committed suicide at his residence on Monday morning. His body was found hanging by a fan in the bedroom of his private apartment in Tavarekere in South Bengaluru.
Ravi is a 2009 batch IAS officer and he has been known for his forthrightness and zero tolerance to corruption. He had exposed big wig construction builders for committing tax frauds and the firms which evading taxes. He was in the news recently for leading raids on well-known realty firms for tax evasion.
Ravi became extremely popular as the deputy commissioner of Kolar for his work in ridding encroachments .He was recently transferred to become the joint commissioner of the commercial taxes department. Dog squad and the forensic science team reached the spot and has been working to rule out any other cause for his death.
