AP To Recruit 6000 Cops For Capital Region's Security

The state government, which created three posts of deputy police commissioner in the police commissionerate in Vijayawada on Wednesday as part of its efforts to strengthen the security apparatus in the Amaravati capital region, has decided to recruit more number of police personnel at the lower level to fortify the law and order mechanism in the new capital.

For the Vijayawada commissionerate alone, the government has decided to recruit 310 male police constables, 14 women constables and 188 AR constables. In Guntur Rural including the Tullur subdivisional office, 398 police constables and 97 AR constables will be recruited. For Guntur Urban, 45 police constables, 10 women PCs and 20 AR constables will be recruited.

The government, which had already given permission for filling up 10,000 vacant posts in various departments through direct recruitment process, on Thursday released the break-up of 5,991 vacant posts in the police department to be filled by the State Level Police Recruitment Board.

Of those, the posts of deputy jailor (16), male warder (240), female warder (25), civil SI (245), woman SI (110), male police constable (2,319), women police constable (113), AR SI (113), AR police constable (733), APSP Reserve SI (209) and communications police constable (330) will be filled.
