IT and Panchayati Raj Minister KT Rama Rao on Tuesday announced in the legislative assembly that Telangana government is planning to establish industrial parks across the state and said that a blueprint was being prepared for a new industrial policy.
This announcement came in response to questions raised by several opposition legislators on the new industrial policy of the government during the Question Hour on Tuesday. The minister further said that the government was examining the feasibility of establishing a textile industrial park in Warangal.
The IT minister then said to solve the energy crisis in the state, the government was preparing a long-term plan in this connection and a separate blueprint was being drawn up for giving a boost to solar power generation.
The idea was to supply power round the clock to industries in the state, he said and added that his government is ready to encourage women entrepreneurs in Telangana.
He also clarified that the government will work for the development of SCs and STs in the state's industrial sector.
Reacting to the minister's reply, senior Congress leader Geeta Reddy said the previous Congress government had worked for the development of SCs and STs in the state.
The Congress leader then asked the minister as to when the new industrial policy will come into effect.
